Professor Paola Lettieri

Pro-provost for UCL East

Over the last decade, Mace’s relationship with UCL has continued to thrive because of our shared ambitions, commitment, and passion towards research, innovation and sustainability. Our shared values have played a critical role in delivering some of UCL’s most advanced higher education, research, and student facilities across London.

In 2023, Mace completed UCL’s flagship Marshgate building, realising UCL’s vision for a new type of academic campus, one that fostered innovation by enabling cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Part of the first phase of the university’s new campus on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – and its single largest building to date – Marshgate breaks records in its sector, providing over 34,000sqm of transdisciplinary research, innovation, education and public engagement space, under one roof for the very first time.

Championing a better way to deliver for our clients and communities is at the heart of everything we do, and we don’t stop there. As a responsible business, Mace continues to redefine boundaries to deliver our projects as sustainably as possible – and this partnership is a great example of that mindset being brought to life.

Professor Paola Lettieri, Pro-provost for UCL East tells us about her journey with Mace and how this relationship supports UCL to achieve its vision.

“It has been really an incredible privilege to have Mace building Marshgate. The ambition being shared, the vision being shared, in what is today this magnificent Marshgate building.”
