Project story
The Dubai World Trade Centre has played a pivotal role in the growth of international trade for the Middle East since 1979. Today, it is the region’s largest purpose-built complex for events and exhibitions.
At the heart of the city’s new business district lies One Central, a mixed-use development comprising urban offices, apartments, hotels and retail, which will combine living, business and leisure in one prime location.
With an experienced background in delivering mix-used projects in the Middle East, Mace has had involvement at various stages of the scheme, and since 2013 has been acting as cost consultant, overseeing the first four phases of the development. Throughout the design, construction and delivery of the offices, retail offering and two hotels, our consultants have been effectively guiding the process, working alongside two main contractors, to actively manage costs and deliver value.
Thanks to the existing relationship with the client, Mace’s Operate division was awarded a contract in 2015 to manage the facilities services for the first phase of the district, and to manage the fit-out projects for the first completed office building – The Offices 1.
Maintaining the district’s grade-A office towers requires a strategic management approach - overseeing the day-to-day running of the building to ensure the high standards are met. Mace oversees technical and associated specialist services alongside reception services for the main building, supported by an off-site helpdesk and maintained with the help of a Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) System. Additionally, Mace manages service providers on behalf of the client including cleaning, pest control, waste management, and landscaping and irrigation specialists to ensure a seamless service delivery.
