Towering above Nairobi’s Waiyaki Way in the centre of the city, Sanlam Tower is 343,000 sqft, state-of-the-art, green office complex.

Setting a new standard for high-rise in east Africa, MaceYMR supported Sanlam Kenya in achieving its vision of creating sustainable value through a building that champions energy efficiency.

Over the 121,000 sqft of lettable space, four basement levels and rooftop viewing observatory, our expert team provided cost consultancy and quantity surveying services on the tower, adopting a unique approach to cost management due to the level of green architecture materials and systems required.

MaceYMR kept the project within the budget as the team navigated through multiple innovative and unique features, including installation of the 10mm thick tempered glass that has replaced the need for traditional air conditioning, a façade that is protected with aluminium fins to reduce solar glare and a roof that collects and preserves rainwater.

With Sanlam Kenya taking up residence across three floors after MaceYMR cost managed the fit out, the remaining space, with its modern design and high-quality finishes, is attracting corporate tenants into the district, creating further growth in the city.
