Project story
Westferry Printworks is a project that will see a currently unused site transformed into a vibrant community hub.
Situated on the water’s edge on the Isle of Dogs, the site occupies over 15 acres. It was the largest printing works in Europe until the business relocated in 2011.
We are leading the project from the planning stage, through demolition and construction delivery, and into occupation. Demolition and site enabling work has been undertaken and a revised planning application is due for submission in 2023.
The Westferry Printworks site will provide 1,358 new residential properties including significant affordable housing provision. This new community will be supported by a new, 1,200-space secondary school, commercial space and a mix of independent retailers, restaurants and bars.
With over two hectares of the site area designed to feature beautifully landscaped, publicly accessible, outside space, the community will be able to enjoy the luxury of two new parks and neatly created walkways on the attractive dockside, just minutes from Canary Wharf.
